Second Tree is seeking volunteer English teachers for a minimum 10-week commitment to teach refugees and asylum seekers in Northern Greece. Candidates should ideally have experience in English language teaching and a strong interest in humanitarian work.
Responsibilities include:
– Planning and delivering lessons from A0 (illiteracy) to B2 levels
– Creating materials and assessments
– Incorporating life and interpersonal skills into lessons
– Tracking attendance and communicating with students
– Supporting student engagement and progress
– Collaborating with the Education Manager
– Participating in community activities (e.g., picnics, lunches, sports)
Requirements:
– Degree in teaching and/or TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certification
– Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
– Ability to work independently and in teams, under pressure
– Flexibility, accountability, and a sense of humor
– Preferred: experience in refugee contexts and with low-literacy students
