We are looking for English teachers for a minimum commitment of 10 weeks, to deliver English classes to refugees and asylum seekers in the Epirus region of Northern Greece. The ideal candidate would have experience teaching English as a foreign/second language and would possess a strong understanding of or passion for the context we work in. Experience in delivering educational activities in this context is a strong advantage.
Your role would include:
- Planning and delivering lessons for classes that can range from A0 (illiteracy) to B2, taking into account individual differences in level within each class.
- Preparing class materials and assessments.
- Empowering students with interpersonal – and life – skills and incorporating these skills into lesson planning.
- Completing various administrative tasks such as tracking attendance and communicating class updates to the students.
- Ensuring student engagement and progress.
- Working closely with the Education Manager to ensure the programme is being delivered to the expected standards of Second Tree.
- Participating in various community engagement activities so as to maintain relationships with students outwith the classroom context such as: picnics, community excursions, sporting events, etc.
Qualifications:
- You must have a degree in teaching and/or Certification in English language teaching (TEFL/TESOL/CELTA or equivalent).
